I am sorry to hear of the death of Buddy Harman. He was a great drummer who Jerry Lee Lewis described as being both "pile driving and solid". He played in Jerry's band for a time and on a lot of Jerry's recording sessions.

Buddy Harman was probably best know for the drum intro to Roy Orbison's "Oh Pretty Woman", he appeared on thousands of other records including "Ring of Fire" for Johnny Cash, "Stand By Your Man" by Tammy Wynette etc etc.

He played on over 20,000 records drumming for everyone from Elvis Presley to Ringo Starr.

This is a link that describes his career and has some early photographs.

He also got fired from the Grand Ole Opry!
