Weekend plans

Recommended Posts

Work, woooo hooo. I may try and get to the cinema to see either X-Files or The Dark Knight at some point. I plan to spend most of Sunday in my pants.

Not Edgar Prais, who, after I re-read the thread announcing it, I now realise are actually playing ... now! D'oh!

I'll be heading down to fife for football purposes, coming home, and doing fuck all.

Y'all is Fantasy Island and a gentleman named John B. McKenna, who I'm interested in seeing live. A few cocktails or light ales may also be consumed.

Y'all Is Fantasy Island were pretty damn good when they played with Be A Familiar actually :)

Was supposed to be playing with Crake at The Moorings, but due to unfortunate unforseen circumstances will now be playing a solo set instead.

Deciding whether I should start work on Monday or have another week of Sundays.

I suppose that depends on how long you've been off for. I had "garden leave" from a job last year for a month, and by the 2nd week I was bored out of my mind.

My current stasis has lasted around a week. On a good day I'll spend five or six hours making music and smoking myself daft. On a bad day I'll just smoke myself daft. Through a stroke of genius I hold the cards concerning the start date of my latest job though, which is why I am spending the weekend deliberating. It's a nightshift job, so I reckon a few more days at home can't hurt - the money is better and your sleeping pattern gets shot't'fuck.

Night shifts are pretty horrible. The longest I ever did was 19 days straight, doing 12 hour shifts. My job was to watch a giant compressor to make sure it didn't explode. I was completely numb by the end of it. I wasn't allowed to read or anything, just stand outside and watch a compressor not go on fire. Good money though.

I know, watching compressors - does my head in :D

I'm going to be doing a good 5 days a week nights for a while. At a hotel, involves lots of driving so I may get to dwindle away a few hours in flat tyres, spontaneous 4am traffic jams, tailed-by-a-serial-killer-and-I-had-to-lose-'im etc

Working, drinking, sleeping.

I too am deliberating whether to actually work this week. I'm sure there's overtime available, but waking up at 12 and sitting around writing music whilst eating pancakes for another week surely won't do me any harm...

I'm doing absolutely nothing. Done my knee in at work, signed off until it gets better (which it appears not to be doing so) and so...forced to do absolutely nothing :(

Saturday: Frantically clean the house as the family are coming to dinner. My nieces and nephews are staying over as well.

Sunday: Get rid of the family, got a babysitter to take son to see Batman then I'm off to the Moorings to listen to the big hairy poet.
