colb
50w Night Train.Thinking about getting a 1x15 or 2 x 10 for live - 12" speakers aren't brilliant for playing a baritone through. Any thoughts on what would work best? Edited September 24, 2015 by colb
Stroopy121
2x10 will be great for most cases. It's what I have for my bass now after scaling down from a 4x10. If you find you need more oomph you can add a 1x15 if you're playing a bigger venue, but I'm not hugely enamoured by a 115 on its own.Xx
Adam Easy Wishes
What 2x10 do you use, Stroop? I'm looking at doing exactly the same. Fun fact, two 2x10s will give you more oomph/bottom end than a 1x15 paired with a 2x10. Just FYI, there's a science to it that I don't understand but I can probably find some source on it if you're interested. My plan was to get two 2x10s and pick and choose what setup I plump for on a gig-by-gig basis. In reality if it's a Drummonds/Tunnels/Lemon Tree show, you're only really using the cab for stage monitoring, as the bass will be run through DI and the cab will not be looked at with a microphone. If it's a show where your bass is not run through the PA then the bigger set up is obviously more flexible.
