James Broonbreed
It's an excellent colour, was this an eBay purchase? I really like my '69 Japanese reissue (contoured body, thinner neck than a '65, metal tuning pegs), but I would like to swap out the switching system for a simple 3 way selector. I've removed the tone control already, as I never use it. Like some kind of fool, I bought a switch, but the shaft is too big for the hole left by the tone control in the control plate, disaster! I am keen to put some beefier pickups into it as well, ones that don't mean routing the body or swapping the pick guard though.Aye it was on eBay. It hasn't arrived yet - you really think that rug is mine?!To be honest I think I'd prefer a normal 3 way toggle as well, with some way to keep the phase options, but I think I'll keep it all original for the time being - apart from the tortoise scratch plate that I've already ordered. However, if I don't get on with the pickups I'll probably slam in some creamery 74 fuckers and then it's open season on the rest of the wiring. James Broonbreed
I'm not 100% on this but I read you can put mustang pickups in a strat so I'd assume the reverse is possible.I'd just go creamery and ask him to buff up some 74's

The Creamery is a good shout, but I'm tempted to put in something daft like a hotrails in both positions. BEEF.
James Broonbreed
Hotrails can suck it. 1/4 pounders max.
Flights
I recently bought an Epiphone Casino Coupe. Went to a guitar shop to buy a tele, left with a hollow body. It's lovely though and the two p90's make a bastard racket.http://cdn.muziker.sk/media/a501/image/file/2/0049/PAoq.epiphone_casino_coupe_vs_jpg.jpg

James Broonbreed
Bastard, just spent just shy of a bastard hour changing the pick guard on my mustang to find out the tortoise shell one doesn't fit. And the wammy bar is a hoorna cunt to get tightened.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Isn't the whammy held with a grommet? Just a case of tightening it with an Allan key. I never use the tremolo conventionally on a Mustang though, it tends to send the guitar straight out of tune.
James Broonbreed
I was tightening the springs on the inside. It sounds Ace now I've got new strings on it though. Very happy with the pickups and all that, I'll probably get it set up properly eventually and I think the tuners will have to go fairly soon. James Broonbreed
What would you recommend as replacements for the tuners? I like the modern Fender locking ones I have on me tele but would like to keep the vintage look and save drilling my head stock
James Broonbreed
Vox cabinet has been retro fitted with a 'hated by the daily mail' badge as I didn't have a poker chip to hand. DS-1 is not connected and is now destined for Ebay.

What don't you like about them? They just seem to please themselves how much they need to be turned. I think it's just a couple of my ones in particular are a bit sketchy, a straight swap would probably do the trick.

HateEvent
I'm not sure I understand the concept of a baritone guitar, looks good though! Longer scale length to provide improved tension at lower tunings (baritones are commonly between 26.5" & 28" scale length and tuned to B from factory) is it really! Cheers, thought it might be something to do with that. The only person I'd been aware of using one was the guitarist in Staind.
