I've no problems with the frets at all, from what I understand, they are big ones. The neck is quite quick, but doesn't run away with you like a pointy Ibanez or something.

On the ones I played they were all sharp, sticking out the ends and unfinished.

The higher end Gibsons have "nibs" so they can't get away with stuff like that.

By contrast the PRS Bernie Marsden I played was flawless.

Cool stuff, how are the frets? When I played some of the cheap Les Pauls at Guitar Guitar last year I was appalled at how sharp they were, unacceptable on a guitar at any price.

its the same with my mates gibson s.g special i find it horrible to play it feels cheap and yeh the frets were really sharp

As the missus is great and knows things that I like, she got me some new pickups for my '52 reissue Telecaster:

Of course, they are lace sensors, which are my favourite! My tele couldn't really cut the mustard when it came to higher gain applications, which was a real pity as it was a guitar that I used pretty much entirely with Panda Eyes. So, now it's been hot-rodded, I think it'll be making more appearances again. The sound of the pick ups is exactly what I wanted, the clear "Hi-Fi" tone of the lace sensor, but they've not over done them, so it still has that Tele twang and boldness. I think that they also compliment the style of the guitar.

New amp. Ashdown Little Bastard 30Watt and 2x12 cab.

Used it at practise and it managed to keep up - just - but I think that's because the 810 I used wasn't sensitive enough. The 212 is a high sensitivity cab so I reckon this might have even more oomph.

I'd only ever used solid state amps before this guy, but I'm a true tube believer now.

xx

S'pose that's you spent all your pennies now ;)

You missed off some pretty important details.

Do they do pinches?

Well, in the aftermath of my first pinch, I heard a commotion from my next door neighbours. At first I thought they were banging on the wall, complaining about the noise, but when I listened closer, I could hear a round of applause. Job done.

As a relative noob, most of my gear is low end stuff.

Guitars-

Hohner L90 LP Goldtop copy

Vintage VRS100

Yamaha Pacifica

Crafter Electro-acoustic 6 string

Assorted knackered Strat type guitars that are lying around waiting to be reborn as ornaments, weird clocks etc.

Bass-

Jackson JS2 Concert

Westfield P bass copy

Ibanez GSR190 (On loan to a mate just now)

Amps-

Line6 Spider 2 30W guitar

Marshall MG15CD Guitar

Ashdown Electric Blue 180 Bass

Peavey 158 Bass

Pedals-

Boss HM2 Heavy metal

FAB distortion

Danelectro Corned beef Reverb

       "          Fish'n'chips EQ

       "          Milkshake Chorus

       "          Pastrami Overdrive

       "          Chilli Dog  Octave

Boss CEB3 Chorus Bass

might sell off some stuff like the Danelectro pedals and the VRS100 as the pedals don't get used and the VRS100 hasn't been out of it's bag for years. I'll stick up pics of the guitars and basses later.

Have a strange itching for a 12 string electro-acoustic just now...........

Remember that stagg gold top that's made it's way around the forum a bit? We'll I've got it back as I miss it and I finished adding a bigsby to it

That's a shame, it was a nice guitar that. It was my girlfriends guitar originally and it's done the rounds one here. A squint bigsby is really gonna make inotation difficult. Please don't do anything to that squier tele you have, it's a great playing guitar and really doesn't need anything done to it.

Not meaning to sound like an asshole here but you've completely written off that guitar. I seriously doubt anyone would want to buy it in its current state.
