and some Blue Curacao which is an orange liqueur. Never understood how an orange liqueur ended up blue.

Technically, Blue Curacao isn't an orange liquer. It is made from dried peels of a citrus fruit called a Lahara, which is similar to an orange, just a bit more bitter.

Triple Sec, Cointraeu and Grand Marnier are orange liqueres though.

Got any recommendations on the continental beer front, Stripey?

I know i'm not Stripey but you should give Desperados a whirl if you havn't already.

leffe is nice and easily available, the radieuse variety being my favourite, hoegaarden grand cru (i dont enjoy regular hoegaarden though it's pretty insipid), erdinger weissbier, chimay in all its incarnations, duvel (so gassy it's unreal, needs extremely slow pouring), the best supermarket I've found for getting interesting beers is actuall tesco, who stock stuff like orval (the most complex tasting beer out of all these i think), la gauloise and various other wierd things. I just bought a dozen 500ml bottles of bernard dark czech beer from them @ 1.99 each because they are re-usable swingtop bottles which will suit my home brewing projects. It tastes nice too.

I have:

1l Gorbatschow vodka (cheap-o)

1/3 bottle JD

70cl Jim Beam

3/4 bottle Spirit of Louisiana- which is actually Tesco's rip off, Asda's is called Deep South and is apparently nicer (that'll be why I've got so much Spirit of Louisiana left) but I wouldn't know cos it's my boyfriend that drinks it not me

1 bottle Sainsbury's TTD rip-off Baileys which has been in the fridge for about 2 years but still seems to taste OK :O

1 bottle Lanson champagne

Bad news: You're getting broken into next week.

Good news: The bottle of Old Fettercairn will kill me halfway down the list.

Wooof!

Not much, but when I get paid I'll be hitting Tesco for some beers..I've been drinking a lot of the Brewdog beers recently and I'm very much liking the Pale Ale they've got going. Innes and Gunn Cask Conditioned beer is on my list too.

I'll be giving some of Stripey's recs a try too. I likes me some continental beers.

I would avoid anything that comes out of Fraserburgh. The beer tastes a bit fruity to me, I'm not a big fan of it. Have you seen that new ale they have, that's 12%, and cost something like 30 a bottle? It's one of these ones Buy BrewDog beer | BrewDog online shop

I heard that they are being forced to change the labels on the Brewdog beer cos the flourescent colours look too much likes it's aimed at kids.

Well I don't have a cabinet but since Christmas is coming up:

1 Litre Tia Maria

700ml Captain Morgans: Original Spiced Gold

10 variety pack of WKD (Don't ask)

700ml Southern Comfort

700ml Amarula

1 Litre Glen's Vodka

2 x 700ml Asda Bucks Fizz

8 cans of Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime

4 cans of Rekorderlig Mango and something else.

As you can see I don't really like Lager and Beer except that Strawberry stuff at Moorings, I tend to drink mainly spirits and occasional Cider.
