MIXTAPE PRESENTS JAPANESE POSTARS // FRIDAY 29TH AUGUST // SNAFU

Japanese Popstars are not as their name suggests. They are in fact three blokes from Northern Ireland who are making the kind of big-room electro that makes Erol Alkan throw off his headphones and start pointing at the CDJ when playing it. Fresh from supporting Klaxons and Hadouken!, their latest EP, including the laser gun-sampling "Delboy's Revenge" left the Miami WMC as wet and traumatised as a post-tsunami Phuket. The lads, signed to Gung-Ho, are now booked in for Glastonbury, Wireless, Oxegen and NOW Snafu, Aberdeen. Pop down and say "Konichiwa".

Theyre gonna be riding high in the charts before long... Cut from the same cloth as Orbital and Underworld, theirs is a sky-skimming stadium-sized version: the kind of tracks built to make an entire field of ravers jump in unison. Theyre something special... - DJ MAG.

"I'm knocked out! That is a BIG BIG record! Very strong!!" - Zane Lowe, BBC Radio 1

ADV TICKETS 5 AVAILABLE NOW HERE, and at Earl of Sandwich, Attic and One-Up in the coming days.

*

"This album is f*cking amazing.* It is in servere danger of taking over our lives..."*- POPJUSTICE.com

"We Just are is a glorious debut. Tracks including ‘Delboys Revenge’, ‘Sample Whore’, ‘Face Melter’, and new single ‘Rise of Ulysses’, give some basis to reviews citing them as “the British Justice/Digitalism”, but listening to the likes of ‘B.C.T.T’, ‘Dr Frenchy Bernard’, ‘Anthepic: We Have Taken Over’, and ‘The Smile’, the realisation dawns that this trio are heading for the territory once held by Orbital, Chemical Brothers, and Underworld.* The Japanese Popstars - back to the future dance music for today, tomorrow, and forever, and it’s coming to a field near your very soon!"*- iBeats.co.uk

*

"Is this the greatest record ever made or is this my imagination?"*- Word Magazine

*

4 outta 5*- DJ MAG

"I'm knocked out! That is a BIG BIG record! Very strong!!" -*Zane Lowe, BBC Radio 1

*

"The Japanese Popstars are F***ing deadly. The End. I need say no more." -*Connected Magazine*

*

*

"With acid squelches, techno beats and an abrasive rock edge “We Just Are” is the obnoxious cousin of Phuture, Frankie Knuckles and all those other bedroom boffins.* Amidst the ruins of the superstar DJ era, it seems that dance music is growing old disgracefully with Justice, Digitalism and now punks like these rockin’ the house with little more than a beat up synth and a bad attitude."-CLASH

"Currently Causing A Stir In The World Of Electro" *-*Mixmag

*

"By Far The Hottest Thing To Leave Irish Shores In Modern Times!!"* -*Our House Magazine

*

"Never has an Irish Dance Act Created So Much Hysteria From Press And Industry Alike" -*Hotpress
