Woodend Barn
Hailing from Dundee, The Hazey Janes, whose debut album Hotel Radio (2006) garnered great support from the national music press and radio, are ready for their comeback. After spending most of 2007 in the States with pit stops at the SXSW festival and Hoboken to record with producer John Agnello (The Hold Steady, Dinosaur Jnr), May 2008 sees them release New York, the first single off their second album. Formed in 2003, The Hazey Janes music is a rich and original fusion of folk, country rock and power-pop, reminiscent of Big Star and Velvet Crush. The bands songwriting and performance is characterised by warm and melodious three-part harmonies, which blend the influences of a strong Scottish musical tradition and a yearning for warm American climes.
