GraemeC
Does anyone local do guitar refinishing? Even someone who does it as a hobby as its not an expensive guitar.G...
Soda Jerk
I've never painted a guitar body, but I have sanded down a Stratocaster, past the enamel black finish to the natural wood, and finished it with a grain wax. Changed all the plastic hardware to black, so it's in the vein of a Springsteen Telecaster, but not a Telecaster obviously.I love Natural Wood coloured guitars. Paint just ruins them
Cabbage
have a look for folk that do custom artwork for crash helmets/bikes as they'll often do other stuff like geetars.

Bigsby
There's a luthier in Mannofield called Ian Taylor, I don't have his number to hand but he has a poster up in Captain Tom's.As I say, his work is very good, but slooooowwww unfortunately, he can take ages to finish stuff. PeteBuchan
I've made and sprayed a few guitars before. I only tend to use natural finishes as in dyed lacquer and only tend to use cellulose lacquer. I have all my spray equipment set up at work just now and will be spraying a couple of guitars once i've finished uni at the end of may. I could probably give it a blast then if that's of interest. Here's some pictures of some of my finishes:http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/clear.jpghttp://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/Image009.jpghttp://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/12str.jpghttp://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/12StringColoured-1.jpghttp://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/12StringColouredBack-2.jpghttp://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/Televox-1.jpghttp://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/Custom3.jpgI've built all these bodies from scratch and sprayed them too. Most of the necks (apart from the hollow lezzer) are bought. Here is a 'halfords appliance white' special too:http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o218/PeteBuchan/Strat1.jpgWhat sort of finish were you thinking? Something similar to this sort of thing?Pete
