Wax
The Black Tooth PresentsTHE DEATH SET (Ninja Tune/Counter/SXSW)Where do we start? To describe loosely (according to their Myspace), try thrash punk electronica. Or according to Organ Magazine - DIY skuzzy, fuzzy lo-fi new wave analogue drum-box driven pop. Signed to Ninja Tune offshoot Counter Records (with previous releases on Modular), the Death Sets new album, Worldwide, actually releases in the UK on the day of their Black Tooth appearance (an unofficial launch party per say). They have been gaining worldwide media attention, from their base in Baltimore resulting in some forthcoming appearances at some fine events, such as SXSW (Texas), Adventures Close to Home (LDN), touring with Bonde de Role (Brasil) and, surpassing all those, the Black Tooth on April 7th. Believe us when we say this will be a very special gig.The Death Set are a faster, poppier, punker and more straight-forward Devo for 21st century attention spans.
