Orgazmo: A Mormon in the porno business, brilliant. Don't want to sound like a queer or nothing, but I think unicorns kick ass!

Hot Rod: Danny McBride + The Lonely Island = where the fuck has this been hiding? Amazing offbeat comedy. Samberg is great.

Orgazmo, christ I haven't seen that in years, best film effort by the South Park guys if you ask me.

Hot Rod was ace, I hwill, I hwill like that film.

Carriers- Quite good, typical zombie plot without a lot of zombies, more of a psychological thing, quite worth watching.

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus- Fantastic effects and original plot but not as good as I'd hoped it to be. Sudden ending left me a bit dissastisfied (thats what she said...) but I felt my main man Tom Waits played the Devil excellently. Wtf was up with Heath Ledger's accent though?

Gigantic: a Tale of Two Johns

Documentary about They Might Be Giants. The one thing that bugged me about it was that it didn't go in chronological order. It kept leaping forwards and then coming back, and it was a bit of a muddle, but overall, it was very good. The stuff about the early days was interesting, and the amount of people who were really affected by how original it was at the time. I love the Dial-A-Song idea, and especially how it wasn't an intentional idea, but was used as a stop-gap to keep themselves on the radar after Flansburgh broke his hand and couldn't play for a while. The amount of established musicians who were interviewed to discuss its importance was quite remarkable. John Flansburgh is probably the greatest man alive, too.

They are both called John, and their three piece backing band are all called Dan. Immense.

The Blind Side: I thought this film was fantastic. I was slightly put off by the media hype, but the acting was superb and the story was nice too. I enjoyed it from start to finish and it was well worth going to see. Recommended.

I enjoyed this film a lot too!

Harry Brown - Good film, can't believe how old Michael Caine seemed in it

Meet the Morgans - Bit too Rom Comy for me, few light giggles

I thought The Blind Side was okay, but I thought that Big Mike's character wasn't developed at all, and that started to annoy me a bit. He was just like a big mute who stottered around their house looking perpetually sad. Not bad on the whole though.

I saw Crying With Laughter yesterday at the Belmont, which is about an Edinburgh-based comedian who goes off the rails, and is taken in by an old school friend until he gets himself sorted out. Turns out 'friend' has an ulterior motive. Good viewing in general, although there was a ten minute spell near the end that I could barely bring myself to watch. Would definitely recommend it though. Hoping to catch The Ghost this week, and Greenberg and Gentlemens Broncos in the next couple.

I also watched There Will Be Blood this morning, which I thought was pretty ace, although I thought it was paced quite badly, and suffered from a bit of a lull about halfway through. BRILLIANT ending, though.

Happy Feet - Absolutely loved this film to begin with, although it lost it's way badly in the last half hour or so. But who cares, dancing penguins are so cute!

****

Night At The Museum - Expected to hate this, but it was pretty funny. All-star cast including Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson (or Luke, I forget which, the one with the big nose), Robin Williams, Mickey Rooney, Dick Van Dyke, Steve Coogan, Ricky Gervais Paul Rudd... lots of laughs, although it's really a kids film.

****

X Files Movie (the first one) - Weird. Shit.

**

Tropic Thunder - "Wow a film with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Steve Coogan and Robert Downey Jr?! This is going to be so fucking funny!" (2 hours later) "Wow, that wasn't funny at all". In a film full of comedy actors, the only funny bit was Tom Cruise, which is a pretty damning indictiment,

Downey Jr. was quite funny but on the whole I agree. The best bits were at the very start when they showed the trailers of movies that the actors had been in. It was all downhill from there.

Fear & Loathing.

First time I've seen it.

Definitely requires another watch as it was rather strange.

Brill movie. The books really good too, it gives more insight into whats going through his head, whereas the movie is quite visual

I watch Martyrs French movie about focusing initially on a girl who escaped being abused, how she made friends with another girl who kinda helped her through it. Then jumps to 15years later and the revenge on the abusers...which unfolds another story. All very graphic and quiet gruesome - wouldnt recommend to people who don't like gore.

Still kinda left me a bit uh? at he end.......just got really strange and unexplained

Possibly tartan Asian lovers might enjoy it

Also watched Clash of the titans the original (bought in asda for 4) my boyf had never seen it so slapped it on. Brill I just love it!

Recently watched:

Slumdog Millionaire - If it hadn't received the accolades and hype I might have been less disappointed. Thought it was cheesy and caused me and the bird a few groans (of displeasure). I think the fact it was set in Mumbai did it a lot of favours. Had the same story been told by Hollywood based in inner city America it wouldn't have received any praise.

Telstar: The Joe Meek Story I enjoyed this and thought the main actor was excellent. I didn't know anything about Joe Meek so it was a good education too. Worth a watch.

Paschendale Written, directed and starred in by the mountie from Due South. A love story set around the Canadian army at the battle of the same name in WW1. Was hoping for a gritty war movie, instead it was a cheesy love story and rather a waste of my time and 3.50.
