After years of learning their trade on the underground

hardcore scene, rap thrash n rollers Certain Death are

about release their debut E.P. Its an attempt at capturing

the unique blend of humour, towering riffs, raucous punk

pace and good time attitude that has made the live shows

legendary. Described as a cross between 'The Beastie

Boys' and 'Motorhead', their live shows have received rave

reviews. Having honed their skills on the stages of some of

the biggest festivals in the UK, Europe and Scandinavia, the

organized chaos of their shows is a breath of fresh air in

times of soulless art school pop and anaemic indie posers.

With tours of Japan, France and the U.K. in the immediate

future, Certain Death are looking to bring their belief in the

evil powers of Rock and Roll from the underground.

Celtic death metallers Ablach are a ferocious ensamble of

six grind-crust affectionados taking their lead from Napalm

Death, Doom, Repulsion, Terrorizer, Nasum, Regurgitate,

Sob, and their Grindcore forefathers.

Formed at the dark end of 2007, Thrashist Regime will

slay your babies, pwn j0r m0m and generally hit you like a

hard, fast sledgehammer. Woo fuckin hoooooo, baby!

Bullet Belt Bastards open the show, probably around 8.30pm.

Festr whoop virgin cheeks in a very big way and are all

about having fun and games and putting on a fucking great

show for the masses. The jugernaught shows no signs of

slowing down yet! (It was never going very fast) - Festr

10 years ago, the country blues rockers breezed in from

Lawrencekirk and kicked Aberdeens arse with shows that

were part bloody good gig and part stand-up routine. Sadly

they no longer play very often, but were making up for that

with a special extended set tonight. Woo hoo!

PLUS!

Youll no doubt have hear the sad news about Black Atom.

The popular prog-trad metallers are calling it a day after

10 years and countless local song classics. Anyone whos

taken an interest in local music over the past decade will,

Im sure, wish them the best with their new projects. But!

In the meantime, heres to Atoms second last gig!

Bring a lighter for the stadium moments and a plastic

sword or battle axe to wave in the air. Im not joking, do it.

Really. Just do it.

AND!

Support for this gig comes from a little-known new band of youngsters on the scene, Albyn School For Girls.

Was at my works Christmas party but heard that Charlie's mum sang "I want to be in America" from West-side Story with Certain Death backing her. Is this true?
Haha, they weren't really backing her. but she did come up to the front (which was a dangerous place to be for a mother) and started speaking to Shauny. She was given the mic and yes, she did start singing.

Ska-punk out fit The Hijacks are a shot of adreneline to the

arm. Skanking great songs, sax and cornet. Constantly

touring the UK and beyond, these local boys (and girl) will

be afforded a heroes welcome as they return to the bar.

AyrshiresThe Hostiles are influenced by bands as diverse

as Reel Big Fish, Earth, Wind and Fire, and The Beastie

Boys. Uptempo punk, reggae, rock, trumpets and

trombones! Whats not to love?!

The Murderburgers are a three-piece Ramones/

Screeching Weasel/Queers/Lillingons influenced pop-

punk band from Scotland, formed around the time of

February 2007. High five! they enthuse.

On the go for a year, Heller State are delighted to make

their bar debut for your entertainment. Theyre a three-

piece punk-rock band influenced by The Ramones, NOFX,

Alkaline Trio, Blink 182, Green Day, Stiff Little Fingers,

Offspring, The Clash... You get the idea...

"We seriously suggest you check out Firebrand Super

Rock - they sound like Down on a seriously stoner riff

bender fuelled by every scuzzy drug, having invited the

singer from Firewind to come and wail over the top," said

Metal Hammer. Zero Tolerance said, a collision between

Soundgarden and Dio. ... ... Oh... and they recently opened

for Slayer, Trivium, Mastodon and Amon Amarth at the

Hammersmith Apollo. Now thats pretty fuckin cool.

Bloodnut are four young men with a mission to bring you

a Southern-tinged stoner-rawk-metal experience with a

strong vocal delivery. But as theyre regulars on the

Moorings stage, you probably already knew that.

You probably didnt know that Blood Island Raiders come

from London, and that since debuting in '02 the band have

played with Alabama Thunderpussy, Cathedral, Brant

Bjork and Nick Oliveiri, Grand Magus, Electric Wizard,

High On Fire, Orange Goblin, Dukes of Nothing, GWAR,

Bongzilla, Witchcraft, Volition, Mastodon and more...

Inspired by iconic bands, mainly from the 70s and 80s,

including Thin Lizzy and AC/DC, fivesome Rise are about

to play their first gig at the Moorings.
