Chris
Aside from Cellar 35 (which is booked the night in question) does anyone know of a similar place or function room that's free to hire out for a small private party? There's Tunnels2 but I dunno if it's free and private parties never stay private there. Lemonade
Enigma in the Academy has a great upstairs bar you can hire, my mate had his leaving party there a couple months ago. I'm sure he said it was free, but don't quote me on that....
lepeep
does it have to have a bar?if not, there is the large upstairs area of transition extreme...

As long as they didn't mind us taking along a lot of booze. The ability for us to control the music being played is more crucial. I guess a central location would be better though. Camie
Enigma let you have your own dj or ipod or whatever. Drinks can be pricy.

(or a big 30th party or something?)
framheim
something of similar size to cellar 35 would be useful. a large area could end up being a bit empty as it's for a small party of 20 or so people, perhaps a few more depending on what happens. framheim
One of your houses/flats?nope, a bar would be nice and space for a band. i know it sounds a bit silly but there is a good reason for it. just a shame cellar 35 wasn't available as it really is the perfect size for such things. Lemonade
The Broadhill Bar has a big room upstairs and there's plenty room for a band, dancefloor and loads of tables and chairs I was at a party there a few weeks back with live entertainment and it was really good. Cheap drinks too, but it will set you back 100 for the room.
