Far too many to mention! Push The Button by The Sugababes still remains my post-2000 favourite though, with I Believe by Kylie a close second.

I am still recovering from my intial gasp at the former's video, I Believe is brilliant though even if I think her best material is on "Kylie".

Good call on that band by the way. Like an earthier version of Architecture in Helsinki.

Don't taint Kylie with that watered down piece of drivel.

BIG DIFFERENCE.

"I Believe"

by

robson&jeromehappydays.jpg

and many others equally as dull

or

"I Believe In You"

AH-MAZE-ING

Anyways... Girls Aloud's Biology is still the best pop song ever written.

It was more shorthand than an actual suggestion that Kylie sang the old standard! Although seeing as you mention it, Elvis actually did a lovely version, it's just Robson and Jerome that ruined it.

As for Kylie's I Believe In You, it's one of the few times in recent years I've actually gone and bought a single but I don't know why I stopped buying singles. I used to love going to Woolworths of a weekend as a child and buying a single on cassette and some sweets. I better stop before this sounds like one of those 'Kids of the 90's' nostalgia chain e-mails.

Here's ten, but most of mine are quite old. as I've managed to avoid most chart 'hits' over the last few decades -

the Monkees 'Last train to Clarksville'

Petula Clark 'Downtown'

Freddie & the Dreamers ' You were made for me'

Smokey Robinson 'The tracks of my tears'

Marvin Gaye 'Heard it through the grapevine'

Mungo Jerry 'In the summertime'

R Dean Taylor 'Indiana wants me'

Slade 'Coz I luv you'

Sweet 'Blockbuster'

Althea & Donna 'Uptown top ranking'

the Cure 'Love cats'

oops...eleven!

If I had to choose 5 real favourites these would be there or thereabouts..

the Kinks 'Waterloo Sunset'

the Beatles 'Strawberry Fields forever'

Jimi Hendrix 'Hey Joe'

the Who 'My generation'

Pink Floyd 'See Emily play'

Blondie - Heart of Glass

Handle With Care - Travelling Wilburys

Beastie Boys - Fight For Your Right

Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama

Bluebells - Young At Heart

Wings - Silly Love Songs

Higher and Higher - Jackie Wilson

...and of course M - Pop Music
