need a hand moving musical equipment?

If you need a roadie to set up and take down your gear in Aberdeen, or a tour driver, I'll dae it - I have a clean licence and athing.

I love setting up and taking down equipment, och aye I fairly lap it up.

Previous clients have included The Needles, edgar prais, Taylored sound and Jamesy the promoter -formerly of Moshulu/ Tunnels /Lemon Tree , cor, we even did the Automatic , it's a pity thon droopy arsed acrobat the keyboardist/ singer left - he was my favourite, cheers Biz.

well i distinctly remember the last few I have seen, which struggled to hold any amount of gear

now that our van is dead we may well be on the lookout for hiring in the meantime sooooo....

can the transit splitter vans can hold...

2 x 4x12 guitar cabs (flightcased)

8x10 bass cab

3 guitar heads (Flightcased)

1 rather large bass head (flightcased)

2 bass guitars (flightcased)

3 pedal boxes (flightcased)

3 cable flightcases

4 guitars (flightcased)

1 full drum kit (padded casing) + stand box (flightcased)

2 large merch boxes

room for clothes/sleeping gear bags for 5 people

and how much are they per day?

For that level of gear you would require an Iveco Dailly at 80 or a merc splitter at 100 per day

Cheers

Aig vans

AIG vans are unreliable. whenever I've been to a festival in Scotland there is always an AIG van broken down. They do not seem to offer any breakdown cover and the vans are falling apart. I've driven one and the turbo was bust on it so it didn't go over 30mph up a hill or over 50 on the motorway. I actually met a guy who sold them it 4 years ago and he said it was like that when he sold it! I've been in ones where the doors don't lock so your stuff is insecure, others that haven't started...

I would say, if your tour is long enough to make it worth while, make the trip to London and get a Tiger Tours van - they are actually cheaper per day for the quality of van you get. Or, hire a Tour Manager who comes with a van.
