"The Brogues formed in March 2007 the band name came about from various drunken chats, love of the same kind of music, mutual friends, acquaintances, Gretsch guitars and quite possibly fate if you believe in that sort of thing. After a summer of talking about getting something up and running it was decided towards the end of that year that it was time to make something happen. Ronnie and Marc had toyed with the idea of getting a band together but things weren't ever quite right and there was always that missing piece of the puzzle. Ronnie had met Sean and Boon at various local gigs throughout 2006 and had started discussing the possibility of getting something up and running band wise but again nothing came of things. Fast-forward to Christmas 2006 and the wheels were now in motion to get things moving. At the time Sean and Boon were playing with local band Rising Signs and had been with them for aorund five years before things started to break down for the band The two of them had by this point decided it was time for a fresh start musically and were ready to get things moving on a new band. They were introduced to Marc via Ronnie and after an instant connection of the four and a few well-played rehearsals the Brogues were born."

Ronnie is Kyle from the views brother and the brogues are going to be huge,playing more and more gigs across the country to some rave reviews.also won the doghouse charity 5-a-side at the weekend past.

"I think people tend to expect a certain sound from us, says Kashmir Red's drummer Lewis, but on this record, we tried to throw them for a loop.

Indeed, its not business as usual on the Aberdeen based quartets ambitious, new venture. We took the limitations off of ourselves, says frontman/bass guitarist Steve Winton. We went into the studio with an open mind, thinking lets do whatever it takes to get these songs to the next level. Because we really have a lot of music inside of us and a lot of different places we can go.

But instead of resting on their rep, the guys chose to challenge themselves. We werent scared to try anything, Chris (Lead Guitar) says. I think thats the difference between this record and the last. We werent timid at all. Every song showed us something we had inside of ourselves that we didnt know existed, which enabled us to be even bolder on the next song.

To that end, the forth-coming songs contains Kashmir Red'ss first-ever track that clocks in at longer than five minutes (Blood on the Saddles), the first song with vocal effects (Little Caroline), and the first one you could verifiably call an arena-rock anthem (Witness Things). Then theres the breakneck Rolled in Gold, , the scuzzy I'm Just a Fan, and the chiming The Man who ate New York" a song so pretty, its damn near a lullaby. I can sing pretty if I want to sing pretty, says Steve, whose husky cadences are a hallmark of the bands sound. Perhaps because it was the first couple of songs, the band have made in which they entered the studio knowing exactly how they wanted it to sound, Kashmir Reds most diverse collection yet. Brimming with ideas, it represents a huge leap forward both in songwriting and musical prowess. Though Steve writes the majority of the lyrics, this was the first recording session where all four band members contributed equally and had a say so in every song, Greg says. Adds Steve: because we were trying to make a different-sounding record, we had to sit back and listen to each other a little more.

To shepherd them through the process, Kashmir Red turned to their new producers out in the sticks. Mark, man, he knows how to get it out of you how to get you to perform at your highest level, Chris says. And they want you to perform at your highest level, but he wants you to have fun while youre doing it because that comes across in the recording. They're the ones that gets us to step out on a limb and try something that wed never think of trying in a million years. Its a great balance.

This time around, the band told Exile that they wanted to take a more proactive role in the recording process. We wanted to go for the sounds that we were hearing in our heads, Chris explains, because your record represents you as a band. But when youre young, as we were when we made our few tracks when we were teenagers, we didnt know that.

So where does one go from there? On tour,. Thats what we want our thing to be, and we want the kids to have a fucking belter and obviously get ourselves noticed ASA fucking P Lewis says. Were a live band, thats our bread and butter. We like to get up there and put on a good show. We start rehearsing tomorrow and Im sure well be kicking ourselves in the ass for recording such hard parts that were going to have to play live. He pauses, then says brightly: But Im going to have some huge arm and leg muscles and a bare chest! "

Kashmir Red are an up and coming rock act all hailing from aberdeen.they have played a string of local gigs and won two rounds of 'o neils unsigned 2007' to make it to Glasgow to play their first out of town gig in the final of the said competition.they came 2nd but were very popular and made good contacts.

"Rising from the ashes of young hopefuls Mercedes, Lady Mercedes were formed at the end of 2002, playing in & around Aberdeen and winning audiences over across the country. Life Long friends and founding members Brett McIntosh and Ray Evans have remained the core of one of the most exciting up and coming bands in the country. They have dabbled with several different line ups, and can include support slots for big names such as Ocean Colour Scene and The Bluetones in their long list of achievements. In 2003, the band - Brett McIntosh (vocals), Ray Evans (bass), Leigh Collingbourne (guitar) and Phil Collingbourne (drums), were fast becoming Aberdeen's most popular band, packing venues such as Cafe Drummonds and The Lemon Tree on each occasion.

Influences come flying in from all over, try The Stones, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, The Doors, The New York Dolls, AC/DC and so on, but its a shared passion of the spontaneous nature of real rock n roll that brings out the good side (or bad side) in these boys. And with no great surprise, the band caught the eye of Aberdeen's "Fat Hippy Records" and by winning a local battle of the bands competition, they won the chance to cut their first album on the local independent label and "Red Light Fever" was released and sold around Aberdeen, resulting in minor success. The disc boasted the sinister voodoo swing of "The Rattlesnake and The Dragon", the heart attack grind of "Sounding Sweetly Evil" and the booze soaked country stomp "Hey Lady Hey". The boys took the album on the road in order to win over crowds around Britain. However, cracks began to appear as the four strong personalities took their toll on each other leading to a brief split. During the split, Guitarist Kris Harris joined up with Brett & Ray and several drummers played with the guys, while Leigh & Phil formed the Money Shot.

But in such a small city and with such a unique energy, it was decided that these four were the only ones who could really work together and make something truly amazing happen whether they liked it or not & the band picked up were they left off with a very successful comeback show on New Years Eve 2005 then later in 2006; the guys were to be reunited with Kris, who rejoined the band.

With a hand picked line-up in place, the guys unveiled themselves at The Tunnels on an incredible Xmas show. In 2007, the band have already headlined shows in Camden town, including the well known "Purple Turtle" Bar, where they received a great response from all who attended, including impressive feedback from some major players in the music industry. As every show goes by, the local favourites rapidly increase their fan base, enhance their reputation and maintain their drive for success.

You've all heard shameless self promotion stunts from local groups claiming to be "The best band in Aberdeen" - Well congratulations; youve just stumbled upon 5 guys that have earned the right to this crown. In Comparison with drive, this title means very little to the guys - Lady Mercedes are a band who has a raw hunger to become the best band in Aberdeen, Scotland, Britain, and The World.
