Dizzy Storm
wow Dizzy Storm has an upcoming show!!! o_Omay be a while away but no harm in raising a bit of interest in Wellington's favourite dance-punk merchants who will be touring the Uk in sept.....and also releasing a 7" in August on Trangressive Records (The Shins, The Noisettes, Foals, The Young Knives, Battle, Ladyfuzz etc…)this four piece band from New-Zeland have the imagination of Foals, the attitude of Devo, the complexity of Liars, the dancing IQ of Daft Punk and the insane energy of Polysics. With four keyboards on stage, vocoder, guitars, drums, they will rock your heart and moist your skin “If you’re looking to attract Radar’s attention, you would do worse than take a tip from puzzle-pop New Zealanders So-So Modern. This means forming a band a bit like Futureheads playing Chic songs, at double-speed, with utterty nuzdoid bits (…) and performing them like B-boy cyber men. It also means I’ll play your best song ‘Fire fights’ hundreds of times a day.”James Jam / The Buzz / NMEyou can check them out here...Welcome!www.myspace.com/sosomodernMON 3RD SEPTVENUE/SUPPORT/MORE HYPE TO FOLLOW VERY SOON

Dizzy Storm
So So ModernNew Zealand's answer to Forward Russia!, we blithely say. Four tunes in (thanks, MySpace), we're not particularly convinced we should alter that verdict. They’re possibly a bit more funky with their punk, and maybe chuck a few more beers down their neck than the Leeds quartet. But still, with songs called 'Upgrade Your Chassis (It's a Pythagorean Party)', what more can you ask for?For fans of: Forward Russia!, Foals, …Trail Of DeadDrowned in Sound.... Dizzy Storm
SABREPULSE to support SSM..one local act supporting SSM will be SABREULSE Sabrepulse is a 20 year-old yorkshire-bred laptop/chip musician currently based in Aberdeen. From an early age heavily influenced by the sights and sounds of the 8/16bit videogame era, he came to start sequencing music in late 2001 after deciding to rewrite the soundtracks to seminal Amiga 500 classics, notably 'Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters' (however, it does seem he's the only one who's ever heard of it).Fast forward half a decade and a mix of styles have emerged; primarily centering his efforts on a genre recently coined 'chipbreak' - sounding somewhat like a fusion between chip/jungle/breakcore/dnb and hardcore - Sabrepulse has also dipped his toe into crumply, glitchy idm and breakbeat. He plays live regularly across the uk, records/performs as half of the glitch/sinecore duo 'Gush Oven' (alongside Smile For The Cameraman Honey) and is part of several diy/netlabels in the UK, US and Japan. (one of which being the glasgow diy label Badboxr which also features Acrynm who some of you may have witnessed at last year's Noxagt gig!)with 3 upcoming record releases, and a torrent of gigs planned to satisfy anyones urge for sid chips and amen breaks, 2007 is set to be the best year so far for this young man MySpace.com - SABREPULSE - Gabberdeen, UK - Techno / Electro / Breakcore - www.myspace.com/sabrepulse
