RF Scott
or so full of in jokes and elements to entertain mr albini and friends, that it made you feel small and insignificant, therefore resort to saying "it's stupid"...I hear you.No idea about the in jokes, given their nature, but the song I heard was pretty stupid, some blast of surf rock, then two minutes of (presumably) Bob Weston slobbering all over a microphone. Rubbish! Don't get me wrong, I like a few Shellac songs, but boy are they boring, in general.
remington blastcap
dudes, i play this album a lot. i like shellac. it's never going to be stuffed with hit singles really is it, thats not the point. i like the production, its shitty but you have to get used to it. bear in mind this band is a bunch of old farts now- so they are still pretty good. (i think i meant bare, rather than bear)luv the sound of it. aye, they cant top action park, but that album is so fucking good its staggering. ohh, le peep...i checked out the bands you mentioned, they were okay. my point was that the stnnng were a bit like shellac in idea- wordy lyrics, obtuse jagged time sigs, funny sounding guitars- not really like the third division muffled sound a likes you mentioned! allthough i really, really wnted Craw to sound ace.....#anyhow.its pretty good if you listen to it back to back with the new-ish Kaiser chiefs record.mr. R.F scott are you one of those guys that likes floodofred? etc etc....
