Kartta: www.myspace.com/karttamusic

Kartta like to mix it up. They utilise atmosphere, rhythm, melody, and sheer volume. To write about books. What a bunch of cunts, eh?

For fans of: Broken Social Scene, Mission Of Burma, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Talking Heads, Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth, Lift To Experience, The Cure, Explosions In The Sky, Interpol.

Fiction/Action: www.myspace.com/fictionaction

Do you like politics? No? Well, do you like music? Yes? Well, you're in luck - Fiction/Action produce ballbag-kicking music that will make you dance, smile, frown, and probably want to kick the shit out of someone.

For fans of: Q And Not U, Fugazi, Biffy Clyro, Unwound, Seafood, Nirvana, Gang Of Four.

10 Easy Wishes: www.myspace.com/10easywishes

10 Easy Wishes are one of Aberdeen's longest running bands, and rightly so. Probably the city's finest purveyors of straight up pop-infested guitar music. You'll want to shake your booty.

For fans of: Weezer, Hot Club De Paris, The Beach Boys, The Who, Green Day, The White Stripes, The Ramones, Buzzcocks, Pixies, Tenacious D.

No Pasaran: www.myspace.com/nopasaran1

A relatively new Aberdeen act, and one which specialises in reflective, down-tempo "old-folk". There'll be many of you out there who have yet to see them. It's about time you remedied that really, isn't it?

For fans of: Bonnie Prince Billy, R.E.M, Iron & Wine, Calexico, Gram Parsons, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, The Band.

This fantastically mixed line-up for three of your Earth pounds. Pretty good, don't you think?

Cheers, man. Yeah, I was really looking forward to playing with you guys and F/A, but these things happen, and are always more important.

Malcolm and Fi are away, but the rest of the band will still be coming down, should be a great night nonetheless!

aye, twas a great night and fiction action ruled supreme. ten easy wishes were pretty awesome too. fair play to right hand left for stepping in at the last minute, only caught the end of their set but seemed to be pretty good. i felt we played one of our best sets as well, i had a great time anyway!
