kirkt
I thought it was a way better venue that Music Hall when I saw the Beta Band there in 2004? So why is it never used for good gigs?
Alkaline
I thought it was a way better venue that Music Hall when I saw the Beta Band there in 2004? So why is it never used for good gigs?I'd imagine the overheads are pretty high, it's not central and i'm not sure if it has an 'in house' PA. Lemonade
It's not easy to get to if you don't drive. There's not many buses go nearby. Plus last time they had a bash there two guys got stabbed in the stomach!

Alkaline
it's probably a 5 minute walk from the castlegate.More like 10 minutes. It's still not central though, all the other venues of a similar size are. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work through that one. Alkaline
Exhibition centre?however there are buses that go past. The exhibition centre is also a cuntload bigger than the beach ballroom. Hence my point about similar sized venues.....
The Milner
there is no in house pa now ryan massie owns it.its not really that far out of the way tho, when you consider how far out of town the AEC is, altnough im sure the lack of parking would be a massive down point. jalepeano death
I think the Ballroom is long way better than the music hall for hearing and seeing bands but.The stage is too shallow .The bouncing floor rules out safely ground stacking pa.There are no points in the roof to fly a pa.There are only fixed Height lighting bars.A huge gap appears between the bouncing floor and the crowd barrier when bouncing. And the balcony hand rail is below waist height.Until these things get sorted major promoters won't touch it.When / if these problems get sorted it will be awesome.Especially if most of the bouncing floor can stay!
