Recommended Posts

THE KIMBERLY STEAKS

Are a 3 piece pop-punk band from Larkhall, reminiscent of early Green Day, Fifteen, Crimpshrine, Osker and Jawbreaker. They've shared the stage with the likes of The Filaments, The Mingers, Freaks Union, Bosseye, Sonic Boom Six + more and have plenty of new releases coming up, including a split with the Dangerfields on Day Job Records.

MY OWN RELIGION

Are a four piece, ska-metal-core punk band from Glasgow/Edinburgh Scotland. The band first formed in 2001 and spent two years playing gigs across Scotland, alongside bands such as Leftover Crack, Antimaniax, Big D and the Kids Table, The foamers, Five Knuckle and The Filaments, among others, embarking on the Buckfest tour with bretheren band Misled Youth, before spontaneously imploding in the later months of 2003. During these two years the band recorded a demo cd, "Honk if you love Satan" and a 9 track EP " Even The Score", tracks from which appeared on the "Riot Ska" and "Punk Rock Scotland" compilations. After a two year hiatus the band have reformed in 2006 with new vigour and enthusiasm.

3 for 4 great punk bands and 1 very large owl, what more could you want! this friday people.

If you're a Mutley fan you'll be able to buy the gfn? split with a song from them, as well as Eastfield, The Upstarts, The Try Hards and, um, The Planeteers ;) GFN? zine no.1 will also be available.

If anyone fancies giving us a hand taking equipment round from Malty's be at the East Neuk for half 5, would be much appreciated, cheers!

that's a coincidence because apparently johnny skyscraper also see themseves as a path to self-knowledge and liberalisation. first band should be on at about half 8. nail that swan and run.

nope, no contra, but other punk bands are available. my own religion and mutley are probably my favourite scottish bands(after the proclaimers obviously), and also great music to make sweet pyramids to.

Pyramids are like the ones back in the day. Except less slavery...

Should be a good one. I'm interested into hearing what Johnny Skyscraper are like as they sound really tight from when i've heard them in practice(i hope that was them).

Was a lil uncertain whether I should make this show, but hey, was pretty cool. And while it would be unfair of me to comment on The Kimberley Steaks as I didn't catch their whole set, both Mutley and My Own Religion were great. Johnny Skyscraper? Not my bag I'm afraid. Sorry.
