2 local cd's worth checking

Firstly it has to be Kitchen Cynics "a tune a day".

It is an ecletic mix of Alan's plethora of styles.

Alan continues with his local based lyrics while going from folk ballads to out and out weird loops.

Some spoken word tracks break up the cd and keep it very interesting.

Bastard Squad

Short sharp blasts from this 2 piece noisy outfit.

I am first to admit that I have only checked this out twice. However, its intense, mental and crazy ( which is good). I do prefer guitar/bass with my noise/grind but this is a band who dont give a shit and quite rightly so.

yeah the cynics first monthly offering is fantastic! and another 11 to go, really like the version of bike from the tribute night! and the first tune about the boats in the granite city sounding their horns sent a shiver down me spine.

haven't heard bastard squad but love the name so i'm sure the music is great!

I'm sure it'll be amazing. Not so amazing that they need 8 different myspace pages though:
