emilsgremils
Hi all - I don't know if this is even the proper forum for this, but I just got here a week ago and still haven't really found what I'm looking for music-wise in Aberdeen. I'm looking for open mic nights (so far I know about the one at the Union, so I'm going to try to play there tomorrow night), indie, and folk stuff. I love to sing, and I can get by on quite a few instruments. If anyone has advice for a newbie, let me know! -Emily
Alkaline
Yes, welcome Dave's right with the ones he listed. There also used to be an open mic at Cellar 35 on Rosemount Viaduct on Thursday nights. Dunno if they still do it. Ma Cameron's used to have one as well but i can't remember what night that one was on.

Alkaline
thank you all for your help! Now I just have to work up the courage (read: strong whiskey) to actually play in public.Nah, all the crowds at open mic nights i've been to were very nice and welcoming. Cellar 35 is a good place to start, it's a smaller venue, so there's less people.
