we played a place called head of steam and it was really good and teeming full!

seemed to have a good reputation for live music and a good mix of students and older folks

we supported a band called odd shaped head, hit them up and see if theyll reccomend any promoters.

we had them up to drummonds once so im sure if you say your a friend of the little kicks theyd get back to you with at least some names

Id give Sunderland a miss. Imagine Tillydrone but 10 times bigger with higher unemployment and more crime. It also smells. You can actually smell it from Newcastle.

Newcastle is fine and so is the Boro. But both lack many venues for anything other than ''big name'' acts at least (certainly compared to Aberdeen for example). The promoters are quite picky given neither town has a regular default live music following. If you dont mind travelling 300 miles to potentially only play to 30 to 50 people then its ok.

Leeds is better for gigs and a better selection of venues and has more chance of you getting a crowd and/or sharing the bill with better a known act..... although if you are openly Scottish you are likely to get your heads kicked in on the way out for Pizza.

When we were on tour last summer we had a night off in newcastle, so we went into some venues to see if there was any space for an opener. The second place we went to was a pub across from that big 'life' centre, called the 'dog and parrot' and we managed to get on this bill with 5 other bands..but then later that night, 2 of the bands pulled out/didn't turn up and 1 band were under 18 and not aloud to play, so we ended up kinda headlining this gig, haha! It was a pretty decent venue, upstairs where u play, think it was called the cedar room..

Also ye, out of all the places we were in the UK sunderland was by far the worst city we'd visited, but the gig was pretty good! In a place called 'the borough' right in the center, so if u still wana go its worth checking out!

Hope you were all wearing helmets and donned your breathing apparatus. I trust you didnt drink the water either.

Anyone going to Sunderland should be payed Danger Money

Could be in a bit of luck with this band. Watch this space!
