Diesel
I've got enough guitars James, but I'll give you 20p for the packet of Cheese & Onion on your bedside table
Guest DustyDeviada
I'll give you a quid for the weights. Seriously though, beautiful guitar, but I would guess it's probably a bit high end and specialised for on here, ebay might be a better route.I hear nothing but good things about Moon though, Steve Earle plays a Moon mandolin. HateEvent
I've got enough guitars James, but I'll give you 20p for the packet of Cheese & Onion on your bedside tableIt's an old(ish) picture so take them at your own risk! Seriously though, beautiful guitar, but I would guess it's probably a bit high end and specialised for on here, ebay might be a better route.I hear nothing but good things about Moon though, Steve Earle plays a Moon mandolin.Yeah Dusty I know what you mean about it being specialised etc.I don't want to put it on eBay as much just because of how much it will cost to list with a reserve every time and the fact that not many people know of Moon at all It is indeed very good - as is anything Moon from what I read prior to buying and also since - but unfortunately I haven't been using it much of late and just bought something else and would like to have some money!I think I'm gonna take it into R&B and put it on the wall there maybe ?( Is that a CD alarm clock thingy on the bedside cabinet? Not a CD one, just a stupid shaped one. That's staying Jees min, never thought you'd sell this one.Na man me neither. Things change I guess. Very unfortunately! If I could afford to, I'd keep it.I know, you could say "well you shouldn't have bought this new one", but to be honest (GAS is a baaaaaaaad thing) - I'd rather have the new one if I could only have one of the two so it's a shame but this has to go! And all for a Hann*****man! Meh, Slayer tone.Element tone! It's spec is very similar to the KH but ever so slightly brighter. That + the Powerball is MY sound BTW Jimmer, your fingers wont look so good after I show you some new 8 string stretch chords.
britheguy
I have a Moon guitar. A very interesting one at that. It's called 'Rhubarb & Custard' it's a one off which was featured in the Guitarist mag (I think is was that mag) several years ago. You are correct, not much people know about them. It's quite a nice guitar. H/S/S from the bridge.

Guest Tam o' Shantie
I drive a Silver '98 Audi A4, 1.8l Petrol. 70,000 miles on the clock.I purchase my Tshirts directly from small clothing labels most of the time, jeans and jackets from charity shops, hoodies/jumpers and work clothes from Primark/Matalan. Hope that answers your questions, but I can't figure out how it relates to my question about the extent of the notable differences in playability and tone between a 'professional' quality guitar, and one which costs, in my opinion, an absurd amount of money. Hope that answers your questions, but I can't figure out how it relates to my question about the extent of the notable differences in playability and tone between a 'professional' quality guitar, and one which costs, in my opinion, an absurd amount of money. You drive an Audi. Audi's are nice cars. You could have a cheaper car, it still serves the same purpose and may satisfy other people plenty.I completely notice differences between a guitar of this quality and a guitar of 500 quality. Resonance, fullness of notes, smoothness of the fretboard, finishing of the frets, quality of the inlays, cleanliness of the routing of the cavities, quality of transition from neck finish to body finish, quality of hardware. Man the list goes on.Snob sounding part: Since owning guitars of this level of quality, quite simply, I don't care for anything significantly lesser in quality. I bought an Ibanez RG Giger a while back. It retailed at 599 I think it was. I played it one day then (for a different tuning) moved onto my ESP KH. THe KH - just generally with regards to tone, general fit and finish etc. - blew away the Ibanez. The quality of it was so notably difference that it gave me no inclination to bother picking the Ibanez up anymore. Hence why I sold it and put the money towards something of the same quality (the ESP Hanneman). What you decide as 'an absurd amount of money' is not such to me. I find it justifiable. Whether you think I'm stupid for that or not doesn't matter much, guitars are my passion and I'm happy to invest into it in such a manner.Anyway - guitar for sale! If I had bought it new then I would see your point. I don't understand why you felt the need to propose questions to me about my spending habits, and then launch into a large rant about how a thousand pound guitar is vastly superior to a 599 one. My original question was 'is there really any need to spend a grand on a guitar when many professional musicians use ones that cost half as much?'. A simple yes or no with a brief explanation would have sufficed, thanks for clearing it all up though.

I also have a 1600 guitar. It isn't even close which one is nicer to play, and which one sounds better - even though they have the same pickups in. Like he also says, it does come down to musical snobbery - but if you enjoy it, and can afford it then I'd much rather spend 5000 on a good musical set up then constantly pissing it down the pub/on fags which was a heap of people I end up doing with their paychecks. In relation to me, it is a guitar more expensive guitar.how it relates to my question about the extent of the notable differences in playability and tone between a 'professional' quality guitar, and one which costs, in my opinion, an absurd amount of money. That is what my 'launch into a large rant' was with regards to.
