Rachie
Don't know if the weather will be suitable for it but the Toronto Islands just a quick ferry ride from the quayside are well worth a visit - best to devote a day to them like. CN tower obviously is a must, if you get a clear day you can see all the way to the otherside of Lake Ontario - even see the mist rising from Niagara. Plus you can stand on the strengthened glass floor on the lower level to look all the way down to the street, enough to make anyone dizzy, my mum was too chicken to do it.The Eaton shopping is good for shopping, although I just remember making a bee-line for the Baskin Robbins booth - the flavours over there are so much better!Erm what else... no idea if it's game season but you could catch the Argonauts (CFL) or Blue Jays (MLB) at the Sky Dome, the University Buildings are quite beautiful aswell and definitely worth a look.If you got the chance a day trip to Niagara-on-Lake and Niagara Falls would also be worthwhile. The horseshoe falls are just breathtaking.I'm well jealous. I'd love to go back to Canada.
woombler
I lived there last summer (woo, Lippencott Street!). Obviously gotta go up the CN Tower - was determined I wasn't gonna be a tourist, but was actually pretty cool, if slightly disturbing standing on a sheet of glass looking at the ground a couple hundred feet below...). Yonge street is longest street in world - good array of shops, some pretty cool music and clothes shops - Eton shopping centre huge and you will get lost in it (I swear I was stuck in there the whole day, living on B&Js ice cream..). U must see 'Honest Ed's' - that shop has everything and it cheap! Yep, ice hockey at this time of year...will be extremely cold, I warn u now! Some pretty cool looking buildings in T too... God, it seems like so long ago. Just pm me if wanna know anything specific!

Never realised America was so close to the Canadian falls - u can actually walk across the border (provided u got ur passport with u!) framheim
go to wonderland! it's an ace big theme park just outside toronto. you going for a long time? if you get a chance you should go to montreal for a few days. it's ace.oh, one other tip. if you're scared of heights, don't stand on the glass floor in the cn tower. yikes!might be worth asking nicky casino as well, he lived there for 6 months did he not? woombler
Ah, but do laugh at the ppl who cling to the floor at the sides of the glass in the tower!

Never realised America was so close to the Canadian falls - u can actually walk across the border (provided u got ur passport with u!)When I was there we went over to New York for the morning, had breakfast and went onto the hurricane deck of the American Falls (very wet.) - surprisingly immigration at the border was more troublesome for our Canadian friend who was with us than for us.Anyone been to Blue Mountain water park? Now that was fun...
Paulscoconutass
Don't go to a Baseball match, unless you like it already... bored off my tits I was. I recall walks around the marina and high park being pretty good and the Eaton centre if you like shopping.
Afro Droid
Thanks chums! Not much one for Theme Parks, but the shopping sounds great. Anyone know where I'll be able to find a non-chain comic book store? Yonge Street? Is this where I'll find non-chain record and clothes shops too?
woombler
Yep, some pretty good music and clothes shops on Yonge Street and also Queen Street is quite cool for quirky stuff. Bathurst Street also good to check out - huge non-chain store there (the shops turn into designer boutiques the closer u get to Yonge tho!) Check out Fran's Diner on Yonge/College St. corner - great breakfasts. If you're a bagel fan, then go to my old workplace on College St, Just across Spadina - tis uniquely called 'The Bagel' - the man is a nutter tho. Get one of those little books wi the pop-up maps - can't remember what it called, but found it was invaluable! (Providing you can read maps..) Last Wrong
Bathurst and Bloor has a massive record shop and it's just across the road from Honest Ed's. There is also some of the finest Korean cusine I have ever tasted there!Bloor St is the one with the fancy shops when you get nearer to Yonge, not Bathurst as Woombler said by the way. Not that you'll be interested in Louis Vutton purses!
woombler
Ah yes, my apologies, tis bloor. There is an ace shop on bathurst tho, directly across from where i used to live, called 'Play Dead' - they do some brilliant clothes there with their own prints and patches on them. The Bagel with the mad man also hosts live music in the evenings (often has live performances during daytime 2) Bagel, Toronto, live entertainment, bands, college, bar,
Alvin Starclusk
Don't go to a Baseball match, unless you like it already... bored off my tits I was.I went to a Jays game and really enjoyed it. Would recommend it if you've got the time and patience - although tickets are so cheap that it's not a massive loss if you decide to leave early. But I don't think it's baseball season anyway.Niagara's definitely worth the trip. Get a regular bus from the station (I forget exactly where it is) instead of one of the incredibly overpriced tours. It will take up most of a day though. The island tours are a pretty good way of passing some time as well. The bars are great, and if you're by yourself, you'll find that the staff and regulars will become your new best mates in no time at all...Dirt cheap too (and should be even better than when I was there last given the weak Canadian Dollar).I may well be making a stop off there myself in the next few months if all goes according to plan. Johnny Mac
I've been a couple of times... loads of stuff to do.The sushi is great on bloor street if you are into that.Hockey at this time of year is a must. Also, go see the 'gay bar' from the police academy films.... can't remember the name of it in the movies but it's called the silver dollar lounge now. Class.

Afro Droid
You're the millionth person to ask that, unfortunately, I don't wanna risk ruining all the sweet clothes I've got with burst bottle of Maple syrup in my luggage... Rachie
Not the syrup, the sugar. You get boxes of it, shaped like maple leafs. Basically like tablet except made with maple syrup. You must seek some out and try it! It's amazing!

Alvin Starclusk
Done! I can get it at the airport apparently.Be aware that there is absolutely fuck all once you get past check-in at Pearson. I incurred significant family-wrath for that.Enjoy the rest of your trip mate. Alvin Starclusk
I am currently pricing up a mini-tour of Canada for March/April as part (or possibly all) of my travel plans. London-Halifax (to visit relatives)-Calgary (to visit my wee cousin)-Vancouver (to see somewhere I've wanted to go for ages)-London. 500 all in for all the flights. Nae bad.
