soundian
the band? I think he was on about this stuff , which is probably where the band got their name, which doesn't fit too well with your theory of black metallers being all cuddly and fluffy
Sam_b
harmful to whom? the pensioner who's just been harassed by one?Aye, one person. Not everyone who goes around or hangs on street corners or wears casual clothes. Aye, go on if you like about how 'they' must be 'bad by definition' : but don't dispute that such a label makes people think these sorts fo things when they walk past someone whose only crime is to wear a tracksuit and an obscene amount of hair gel.you just couldn't resist it, could you.Nah, not when you're speaking pish.you obviously stopped reading my post after that line.Well, your second line was just justifying your remark, and the second one I guess I agreed with. There wasn't much to read.get oot that big pink fluffy PC cloud and stop walking around with your feet firmly planted in mid air. Why, its like a Daily Mail editorial! Cloud
Or the 'blatant and often harmful stereotype', your choice.Hang on, wasn't it Rosie Kane that made that laughable statement? If so, why are you promoting one of her policies, given her attitude towards Sheridan?Anyway Sam, I bet you'd be the first one to phone the police if some neds took to hanging outside your house, harrassing your parents and making a distinct point of being as anti-social as possible. Of course, socialist utopia policies are fine to inflict on everyone else, but I bet it's a different story when it's so close to home. Let's be honest, how many intelligent people go around looking like neds?

Rachie
Never have I seen so many people get the wrong end of the stick in one thread.Hope the injured parties make a full recovery, not nice.Have to say the thought of Pete Doherty being taken out along with a bunch of Neds is rather appealing though. There wasn't much to read. Why, its like a Daily Mail editorial! You are very stupid. You'd be able to carry off the intellectual persona that you seem to strive so hard for if you demonstrated the ability to read. Seeings as Diesel's original post was so hard to figure out, allow me to summarise it to the extent that an ape could grasp the point:1. Not all people who dress in sportswear deserve to be called 'neds'. The tag also doesn't necessarily apply to people who wear an obscene amount of hair gel, or hang out on street corners either. They're just normal people.2. If someone displays antisocial, ignorant, violent, disrespectful etc behaviour, then they fit the description of 'ned'. You could also call them a yob or a troublemaker. In conclusion, not everyone who fits the appearance of a stereotypical 'ned' deserves to be categorised as one. On the same note, to say "some neds are decent" or "not all neds get drunk and cause trouble" is bullshit. You wouldn't say "some troublemakers don't cause trouble", so why is it any different? If you can't distinguish between a ned in a tracksuit and a normal person in a tracksuit, then you're not only an idiot, but you're a hypocrite as well.
