Isis: Live 4 2001-2005 CD

Recommended Posts

release various "live cds", or remix albums. all with four types of "handmade" artwork that peopel lap up. i remember the pearl jam summer tour cds for every gig they did.

shit merchandising plots "i just want a copy of that limited edition record on its own, i dont want to buy a £30 hoodie as well so i can get the record before it sells out, i also dont like paying 20 dollars us postage because they refuse to supply it on UK distro"

mr turner/hydrahead corporation really annoys me with that

Couldn't agree with you more. I did buy the Glasgow release that Pearl Jam put out on the Binaural Tour but purely because i was there and it was a nice memento of the gig.

ah come on, there's a big difference between releasing 4 live cd's over 4 years and releasing 50 odd cd's from one tour. no one's forcing you to buy them.

i've always found the preorder packages that hydrahead offer pretty good value for money as well. they usually have a good range of options ranging from just the album to the aforementioned hoodie options. it's not a 'shit merchandising plot' it's just a good business decision.

good business decision for who? mr turner? the bands/managers et al, the music lover? the kid who likes showing off which bands he likes?

each to their own though i guess, i just think its a bit of a cheap shot

its not good value when all you want is a copy of a record by a band you like, but you have to purchase some advertising pieces too.

This CD cost me just a shade over 7 quid including postage from the States. Fine by me. And it's fucking great as well.
