Old Gold
Frank Turner's first album came out today folks. If you don't have it yet, it's marginally cheaper in a certain local indie than on a popular internet megastore, so make the trip. What does everyone make of Sleep is for the Week then?Im settled in the YAS corner. Alkaline
I thought it was ok all 2 times i've spun it. He's better live than on CD though.

Camie
Can't wait for this but what's with the supporting?I've heard of Dive Dive who i'm pretty sure I don't like but who are Beans On Toast?
Old Gold
www.myspace.com/sexdrugspoliticsBeans on Toast's an acoustic act from dahn saff, and he's rather bloody good.
Camie
Agreed, thanks for the link...he is really good, that name is a put off though.
KatyS
should be a good one - frank will only be playing with dive dive (his band) on some of the songs; much like the album he has some songs that are kept acoustic. the album is ace - i need to go buy a copy for Pell's wonderful artwork tho...he is on total rock radio right now btw: TotalRock.com - 24/7 Rock and Metal Radio ++
Guest MDP
frank was saying when i last spoke to him that he'd do a set with the band, then finnish off solo-accoustic, or vice-versa...

Ah, thats a bit of a relief. His acoustic stuff is after all... the tits.
KatyS
right guys - i've just got an email from frank:hey katy hope yr well. we're all gearing up for the tour at this end. we're currently investigating accomodation in aberdeen... not hitting you up, there's going to be quite a few of us, but i was wondering if you knew anyone who might be able to help out with somewhere for us to park and sleep? let me know. should be a fun show, list for you as ever ft can anyone help? my house is far to small - for them all but if anyone can help can you please let me know?this show is going to be a over year after i first booked him to play aberdeen - he has come such a long why since then. i am personally really excited to see him play with a band - but tbh - it can never be as good as million dead so i think he should stick acoustic!just out of interest - how many of you lot prefer frank turner to million dead? it's interesting now that when his gig's are advertised now people don't even mention million dead! Old Gold
Spot on to Ry Walker for getting support slot - he only had to kick a cripple in the nuts to get it . *not bitter*Hey, it's not like you were crippled IN the nuts.I used to listen to Million Dead in my wee seaside town, but never got the chance to see them live. I got persuaded into going along to the first acoustic set after I moved up to Aberdeen after hearing a few myspace songs supplied by a friend, and it was fucking groovy.Frank Turner and Million dead are two kettles of fish, and I like each for their seperate interesting aromas. David
Are there any tickets on sale for this? tried in one up and they didn't have anything... (just to get it all sorted in advance really)The new album is pretty good, though I will admit it isn't quite the same as catching him live, which is always a brilliant nightDavid
