Marillionboy
Has anyone ever been in/stayed at the Royal Hotel in Windmill Brae? Conflicting reports on the internet claim it is the most horrific experience in hotelling history and absolutely first class. Anyone? pogofish
I think it had a full renovation a year or so ago. So it is probably OK now. Before then, it did indeed look a bit ropey.

Moshulu Rob
The food is very good there, if you are looking for traditional British cooking.
Scootray
A hotel named Royal stuck on Windmill Brae sounds like it's best avoided to me.
pogofish
I remember now! - This is one of the places that gave me pretty-extreme shit for trying to buy a soft drink at the bar once so I've never gone back-in.

Rachie
Only ever seen the reception area and the cellar. It didn't look too bad, but no ideas what the rooms are like.At least it's got To-Go directly opposite for very late night munchies
