Gutted' date=' i think their last two albums are their finest.[/quote']

I couldn't disagree more. I'd have to say that Philophobia and the Red Thread are their best work. Both are beautiful, inventive, eclectic albums. Monday at the Hug and Pint had it's high points, but it's not their finest. And as for The Last Romance... People tend to gush over it, but I feel that it's a case of the less said, the better. Terrible album. Just my opinion.

It's sad that they're splitting up, but I feel that it's for the best. I think that the quality was nose-diving, but they're still one of my favourite bands. Does anyone have a copy of their tour dates?

Edit. I do!

Mad For Sadness was the first album I bought by them and still my favourite, the live arrangements of some of their strongest melodies from Philophobia were superb. Elephant Shoe was a bit of a struggle, but all the others have good moments.

Mad For Sadness was first Arab Strap album i heard and it meant i couldn't enjoy Philophobia so much because the original recordings of some of the songs were so poor, like New Birds, which is really timid on Philophobia.
