David B
Columbo is certainly there or thereabouts.Seemingly perfect muder is committed. He then solves it.Great.Sherlock Holmes is probably the best. Real depth of charactor. Basil Rathbone was good, although set in the wrong century! Who cares?Jeremy Brett was the best Holmes. Holmes with all the personal flaws to the fore.Saw him in HMT years (decades) ago doing the Holmes thing. Good stuff.Monk is the best of the current crop. A nice first edition.CheersStuart

Marillionboy
I'd put Shoestring as one of my top three definitely. The classic final episode with the exploding kids game was a masterpiece. Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes and John Thaw as Jack Regan are my winners.
Marillionboy
Yep' date=' Dirty Harry is the best.I went to San Francisco a couple of years ago and did the Dirty Harry tour courtesy of this website:[url']http://www.pruney.com/movietours/harry/intro/Ace if you're going to San Fran, but a good read even if you're not.I even pressed my nose right up against the big cement cross, Harry style, but fortunately Scorpio didn't come out of the bushes and start beating me up, so I had no use for the flick knife I had taped to my leg.Yes, I am sad.Andy Robinson as Scorpio is surely the best movie psycho ever in that? "Left hand, let's see the gun. My...that's a big one." "Left hand, throw it. EASY!"The first Dirty Harry is a masterpiece. The sequels though to me are cobblers.
