i'm not 100% sure on this, but i think it is 16. With some piercings they will do it at 14 if a parent is with you, i'm not sure if this applys to tongue aswel.

Out of the 30+ piercings i've had over the last 5 years my tongue was one of the first, and one of the only ones i've got left, i still absolutley love it, and if i take it out my mouth just feels weird!

The British Body Piercing Association have a Code of Practice and Ethics for their members to follow, and these include not giving anybody a piercing under the age of 14 years. Those aged 14 to 16 must bring a parent or guardian with them. Also, piercings below the neck and on tongues at this age are carried out at the discretion of the piercer. Those aged 16 and over are treated as adults.

It's a pity that joke was made in post #27 - on the 8th August 2006....

Three years to repeat a joke. Do keep up.

I didn't initially notice the thread was three years old and I didn't notice post #27 either. I did wonder why no-one had made that joke already, so thanks for taking the time to read the thread more studiously than I cared for and in shedding some light on the mystery.
