Biz
yeah, double kick pedals are used to bore us in far too many metal bands at the expense of them doing interesting stick work,I learned some Steve White and Paul Weller songs first, then deciding more toms and less kick sound better sold the double kicks .I did use a remote hat as well,so that gave me 4 foot pedals to play with - 2 kicks + one cowbell and 2 hats ,and loads of drums and cymbals ,but I prefer 5 piece kits for gigging and electric drums for making weird noises nowadays. Lexicon Devil
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo-WbyJNENU&search=derek%20roddyDerek Roddy is one you want to watch for consistent and fast playing.Be sure to check some other videos too, he's nowhere near a one-trick pony, and has in fact moved away from playing extreme metal for the moment I gather.
