Cultural Enterprise Office professional development workshops. For anyone that went to the Go North workshops and listened to the advice from the panel members recommending that the business aspect of being in a band (or manager or promoter) be something that is becoming increasingly important, you may be interested in these free workshops...

Aberdeen Starting Out Seminar

Date Wednesday17th May 2006

Location Aberdeen Foyer

Time: 1.15pm to 4.45pm

This workshop introduces the basics of working as a professional artist or creative. The workshop is aimed at anyone looking to work in the cultural and creative industries and has been attended by over 400 artists, designers, musicians, filmmakers, performers, writers, photographers and community artists.

So if you are trying to finance and make a living from your creative practice or wanting to establish a business in the sector, the afternoon can help you plan your way forward.

Aberdeen Getting Your Work Out There

Date Wednesday's 7, 14, 21, 28 June

Location Aberdeen Foyer

Time: 13:30-16:30

A four session programme delivered weekly, focusing on you and your business idea.

Providing practical tools and techniques in goal setting, visualization, marketing and confidence building to help you get your work to your clients/audience whilst exploring your goals and aspirations.

As well as these one to one sessions are available at Peacock Visual Arts Tuesday, Wednesdays (9-5) and Thursday mornings. Best to book through contact details above cause they have the big giant diary but I don't mind being cornered and asked as long as you smile.
