Hog
Anyone heard the new single. What is with the Britney Spearsesque production? Underneath it there seems to be a decent song...shame.Thoughts?

Last Wrong
Was at the big weekend, muse were ace. The new song sounded better live. They played another new song live last, it was an absolute belter. Totally epic.

Davey_sc
Sounded pretty kack live I thought. The studio version sounds better. Overall it's OK, but that's as complimentative as I'll get. They should stick with what they now, that shit r0x0rs!
voodoo_chile
any idea where i can hear the new muse song? http://www.myspace.com/pluginbaby69then click on supermassive blackhole...its pretty poor though..
davidm
to be fair, as a song, it's quite good.Muse have simply raised expectations from their fans thanks to their other albums - it's just a departure from what fans expect. i.e. the Futureheads did a similar thing with "Skip to the End" as their comeback single. Most bands can't continue with a similar style of music for an incredibly long period of time; hence why they've changed their style. You never know, it might not actually be anything like the album. Metarie
I quite like it, needs to get heavier in the middle though. I can only handle so much of his voice being that high pitched, it's doing funny things to my speakers.
A.Pel
I heard it ont he radio in the morning; didn't even recognise them. Then again, 'twas early.
Swingin' Ryan
I quite like it, it has a kind of recent Marilyn Manson vibe, with the kind of light Dancey-Industrial beat.
Guest Phantomsmasher
Hahaha. When I first listened to the intro to that I half expected Rob Zombie to start singing... Meh, it's not that good a tune imo, not catchy enough to be a pop song, but not 'rocky' enough to be a rock song. At least they've stoped apeing Radiohead though... weaver
Not sure... does sound awfully poppy. Starlight is brilliant though.
Elvrum
But seriously...Muse have never been....well, good. I wasn't expecting much from the new stuff.

Snowball
Hah, when I first listened to Supermassive Black Hole, I thought to myself that it sounded like a Britney Spears/Marilyn Manson/Scissor Sisters hybrid. Then I come on here and see it compared to Britney and Marilyn... I'm glad I'm not the only one! I loved it but was still kind of disappointed that they'd gone in that direction. Now I've heard their other new one that they played in Dundee I can't wait for the new album...
