Sue Denim..
This was advertised at my work. I just had to laugh at the name - sounds like torture. And 'Parade' is the name of a porn mag. Tee hee.
Davey_sc
Haha.Mm, torture porn. Sounds erotically brutal... Or brutally erotic. Whatever floats your fancy.
Paranoid Android
I didn't realise it was today until a couple of minutes ago when my sister sent me a message saying she's going to be in it. I would like to have gone but I can't make it.
Sue Denim..
I'm so damn nerdy, I'm gonna watch it via Aberdeen Webcam. Every 60 seconds I'll see the roof of more floats going up Union Street. Remember to wave folks!
Davey_sc
What is it? Apart from torture porn?

qzdiablo
i would have participated, but having to finish this dissertation is torcherous enough
Lemonade
I was there it was really good, a lot of people obviously put a lot of thought and effort into their floats and costumes.
catherine
my mum called me from it just to tell me she was watching it and thought of me. how sad. ive not seen it in years. we used to go every year with a bag of pennies. was sooo much fun as a kid. me and my mate vicki were gutted we wouldnt get to take part cause we were going to paisley. but keep saying we're gona set up our own one haha. but we dont have societies at our campus :-(
*Amy*
Aye, it was a good one tonight. The last couple of years were a bit shady - lots of the students were pissed and many made little effort. Anyways, lots of good floats, particularly liked the circus and Ghostbusters. The clothes line costume folk who were collecting pennies off the floats win best cstume Some of them must have been frozen though, was affa nippy. Don't get why one girl had nipples drawn on her top and one with a penis-shaped wobbly hairband thing. Kiddies night out and all.I'm wanting to be in it next year for sure. Swingin' Ryan
It was bloody loud, I was being 'torchered' by the noise in my house and I live miles away. All the horns and stuff sounded like that bit in the third Lord of the Rings when the Men of the South turn up on Oliphants and start blowing massive horns, it was terrifying. Kiddies night out and all.I'm wanting to be in it next year for sure.Make sure you think of the kiddies if you do then - no one wants to see a fanny or cock.Me and my mate were sure we read last year that the throwing of coinage was banned - this wasn't the case then? Rachie
Is this that 'largest torch lit student parade in Europe' I've heard so muich about?Tha'd be the one.Aberdeen University Students Association's oldest tradition. Goes back to 1889 or something like that.I'd love to do the MedSoc one next year...

Benji
I missed the weekends one.. darn it..I seen one a few years ago, some dude dressed up as a Mars Bar fell off his float.. was soo funny.
Sam the Eagle
Is this that 'largest torch lit student parade in Europe' I've heard so muich about?except that they hold it at a time of year when it is still daylight until well after the parade has finished thus pretty much defeating the purposes of their torches
