french_disko
I'm moving flat soon & the new place has a satellite dish in place. Can i just buy a cheap Freeview box from Asda and wherever and hook it into the dish? Or do i need to get Sky to do anything?
Guest DustyDeviada
No, Freeview doesn't have anything to do with satellite, it runs off a normal telly aerial. To access satellite you will have to buy a digital Sky box and viewing card from somewhere - maybe try ebay. You can then access most of the same channels as Freeview on it, with some notable exceptions such as E4. Otherwise you can sign up to a Sky package, but it will cost you. Sue Denim..
Get the freeview box but it only really works well with an outside antenna. A little ariel on top of the TV is a bit 'hit and miss'.
Davey_sc
Don't you need digital TV too?
framheim
Don't you need digital TV too?nope. any tv can connect to a freeview box but you do need an appropriate aerial.
David
you can get satellie freeview now, like normal freeview, just using a dish for better receptionno idea if you could hook it up to an exsisting dish, if it was setup for sky or whatever...David
Alan Cynic
If you can get a decent channel 5 reception, then just hooking the Freeview box to your outdoor aerial will work fine.
