No, Freeview doesn't have anything to do with satellite, it runs off a normal telly aerial.

To access satellite you will have to buy a digital Sky box and viewing card from somewhere - maybe try ebay. You can then access most of the same channels as Freeview on it, with some notable exceptions such as E4. Otherwise you can sign up to a Sky package, but it will cost you.

I have fairly decent freeview on a tv with an indoor aerial that couldn't pick up channel 5.
