Biz
If you are unacustomed to exciting music you had better sit down....click on this http://www.16again.co.uk/then the green button - (sound and vision)then click the track by ATV and click PLAY...you will not be bored to death or lose the will to live at our shows - which is more than can be said for some other acts I have had the misfortune to witness due to ahem "Interesting" Promotions, seriously though, you should catch us gigging and get the blood flowing to your brain,it may encourage you to change your opinion and views of 16again ,we are an exciting live band and attendances at our shows are large - jealous? you should be,oh and we are promoters and managers as well as musicians, which is a tad more noteworthy than promoting bands by boring everyone with posts describing bands in the most long winded, call a spade an earth inverting horticultural implement, way possible, with fictitional dates - The Tunnels Sunday 10th June 06Don't diss 16again, we work hard at what we do and are very good at it,and it's fun for us and the audience... who will NEVER be told to SHHHHH every time they try to buy a drink or say hi to a friend which happens at IMP events...at this point I would usually insult you in a personal way to make you look bad ,but you do a fine job on your own. Biz
He he he ,your Avatar is Sonic Youth - HARDLY a new band,or is 25 year old music more acceptable than 30 year old music?.Sonic Youth, initially comprising of guitarist / vocalists Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, guitarist / bassist / vocalist Kim Gordon and drummer Richard Edson, were formed in New York City in 1981. A product of the No-Wave music scene of the late 1970s, the group had their roots in abrasive, experimental music, with Moore and Ranaldo having previously worked with the experimental composer Glenn Branca. The band were joined in 1985 by drummer Steve Shelley, and have now recorded 14 albums together, as well as many side and solo projects. Their work has been consistently challenging and innovative, and they are widely regarded as one of the most intriguing and influential bands of their time. This view has been added to by the strength of their latest record "Sonic Nurse", which also features the talents of their new fifth member Jim O'Rourke. Sorry, but the name of your band says it all to me - 16 again. it's false nostalgia for self proclaimed nu-punks and blatant nostalgia for self-proclaimed old punks. There's nowt wrong with it in a purely superficial "fun" level but it's hardly taxing the mind and the ears of listeners. It's the same old song for the same old crowd at the end of the day. Chili may have been wrong to namecheck your bacnd specificaly but you can hardly compare your gigs to the innovative and challenging bands that IMP put on at times. stuartmaxwell
16again is a covers bandi have no interest in hearing old songs covered by old men, and i definetly have no interest in payign money to see it either
Graeme
"Shhhhh!"Okay. This is mildly amusing, but it's getting irritating, displays some level of ignorance and is only appropriate in certain circumstances. And why shouldn't people be able to listen to quiet music if that is what is required. That's maybe a whole other discussion though! It certainly wasn't appropriate for Noxagt, Acid Mothers Temple, The Beautiful New Born Children, Gatchien and probably many others I've forgotten and it certainly wasn't appropriate the night we had the PA turn off because it was too loud! So, Shhhh yourself! careering
who will NEVER be told to SHHHHH every time they try to buy a drink or say hi to a friend which happens at IMP eventshaving been to a few imp events that is blatant exageration, Mike of imp will only shoosh people who continually make a continuous racket to the detriment of the 99% of people who are genuinely "into the entertainment". Perhaps people talk all the way through your tribute band's set because its all been done before in 1977. Personally I would never go & see a tribute or covers band, because there is soo much amazing & interesting music to discover, some of which is now coming to Aberdeen, via open minded promotors who are not stuck in a time warp rut. back to the great news of ariel pink & belong coming to Aberdeenwell done imp
