Fluffy
hi all, i got this from another forum. seems to work.1. Type "about:config" without quotes into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:network.http.pipeliningnetwork.http.proxy.pipeliningnetwork.http.pipelining.maxrequestsNormally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.2. Alter the entries as follows:Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now. Sue Denim..
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now.To the detriment of the site you are on. Imagine everyone did this on Aberdeen Music.

ClicheGuevara
Or download the fasterfox extension. It does that and more...better ;-)
Cloud
There's no need to set the setting to 30 either, firefox is hard coded to only allow 10 requests.
Neil
set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.Wrong.There's no need to set the setting to 30 either' date=' firefox is hard coded to only allow 10 requests.[/quote']Wrong.Valid values for this parameter are 1 to 8. More information over here:http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.pipelining.maxrequestsMy advice is don't go tinkering with these values unless you know what you are doing. Instead, take heed from ClicheGuevara and get the FasterFox extension:http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/
Cloud
Wrong.Valid values for this parameter are 1 to 8. More information over here:http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.pipelining.maxrequestsServes me right for relying on an article read elsewhere that wasn't official. While we're speaking about Firefox, is it just me, or is 1.5 really unstable?
Neil
It's crashed on me only a couple of times but usually when I'm trying to do silly things. My Firefox doesn't seem to be a big fan of audio of video content that plays automatically using Microsoft Media Player in particular.I've noticed my Firefox version is 1.5.0.1 - have you got the latest version?
