Cloud
Anyone recommend a good, cheap bass amp for practicing with?
acoustically_content
define cheap i.e a budget If you have a PC and a stereo at home you can route it through there. as long as you have speakers rated at above 20 Watts a side then youll get enough volume to play along wuith cds.If not, then go for a Megaboogie.they range from 100 quid to 1000 and are a safe bet

Monk Rocker
Look out for a second hand amp. You should be able to pick up a half decent one for about that price. Have a look in Cash Converters as they sometimes have some great stuff at unbelievably low prices. Also watch out as they can charge bug bucks for shite too!!!! David
secondhand would be a good betalso, if you have access to some half decent pc speakers/hifi or would be happy practising on headphones you could get a amp modelling device, the Korg ampworks got really good reviews in guitar buyer and the bass vamp is supposedly very good too. plus both come in under budgetDavid
