Flat Screen Monitor Help

Recommended Posts

I've recently purchased a flat screen moniter but i'm having a serious problem configuring the screen.

it is coming up very bright and pale.

it doesnt appear to have a make.

i've tried adjusting the colours, contrast and brightness.

so any clues would be cool

when you press the menu button on the monitor does it give you options, if so look for one called colour temperature, that should allow you to change the brightness and contrast of the monitor.

Failing that have you made sure it's plugged in?

Try degausing it if there is a button for that

Is the Refresh rate set correctly?

Is the monitor big or thin?

If the monitor is thin is it powered from the mains or other?

Are you adjusting the settings on the monitor, or on the computer display properties? If you find the display settings in Windows, you should be able to alter the gamma settings which would make quite a big difference- much more than the monitor's own setting adjustments.
