From Euro-Pop to Antifolk - From Pop-punk to Grind - From Experimental to Craig Scott from the Hexagonal Pensioners writing and performing a one man acid jazz orchestra! Zoghurt Bands to play on Monday 27th february:Sam Beaton - Folk/Antifolk/Acoustic/Indie He's a Tall, Glasses wearing Socialist with a heart of gold and songs that set the mood for a nice warm bath! Hailing from the North East of Scotland (Out near Ellon way i think) he is well known for his heartfelt, and in some ways comedic folk/antifolk songs taking influence from artists such as Adam Green, Belle & Sebastian, The Smiths...etc Sounds like: A busker falling into a Dustbin. Supporting Aberfeldy & lots of local talent, have slowly been gaining fans and support from local gig goers and people on the internet! After the success of the first release 'Camies Party #1...THE CD' (on sale from gigs and 1up) will be releasing the second CD 'OLD PHOTOGRAPHS' with 12 new songs that even your granny might like! Taking influence from HUNDREDS of bands, to name a few: Johnny Cash,Flaming Lips,Bob Dylan,MxPx,Cat Power,Neutral Milk Hotel, The Eels & the New York 'Antifolk' scene .....oooh - also this gig is gonna be a rare one - one of the last gigs with drummer Adam Florence as he will be giging with : (! Sam and the holy folks seem to be the only acts on there that aren't comically shite. Having said that, the bob hoskins song is fairly cool.
