Shetland Fiddler, Jenna Reid is one of the most prominent young fiddlers of her generation. Having recently released her debut solo album, 'With Silver & All ', to critical acclaim, Jenna was also awarded the 'Best Up Coming & Coming Artist of the Year' at the 2005 Scots Trad Music Awards. Showcasing her band at the recent Celtic Connections Festival, Jenna's career continues to go from strength to strength.

'With Silver and All' is a clinching example of Reid's extravagant gifts (The Herald)

"explosive fiddle playing " (The Herald)

Jenna is also a founder member of Shetland fiddle group Filska, and the traditional all-girl group Dchas, who have both had recently releases and performed all over the world.

"...Filska look cool. No one exemplifies this more than Shetland fiddler Jenna Reid, who marries an easy-on-the-eye appearance with instrumental mastery and real feeling ... quite simply electric." (Rob Adams, The Herald)

Now based in Glasgow, Jenna enjoys work as both a performer and teacher, having tutored alongside legendary fiddler, Liz Carroll. In addition to this, Jenna has also toured and played with Scottish acts; Deaf shepherd, Fiddlers Bid, John Raes Celtic Feet and Kevin MacKenzie's Vital Signs.

Review from Elizabeth at Footstompin.com of last nights gig in Edinburgh!

-----

Do try and catch this pair if you can on their current tour. Beautiful playing from both fiddler Jenna Reid and guitar accompanist Kevin last night at Leith FC and much appreciated by the audience. Technically so good, and able to execute a varied and interesting programme which ranged across furious and exciting reels, a Swedish march and an Unst bridal march, and some very beautiful slow airs which included Scott Skinner's Hector the Hero and Willy Hunter's The Love of the Isles. The pair were joined by Shetland fiddler Kevin Henderson (Fiddlers Bid & Boys of the Lough) for the last sets which included the lovely tune 'Michael's Mazurka' - written by Michael Ferrie who was a founder-member of Fiddlers Bid who died at the young age of 21.
