im trying to remember what actually came out this year.

I suppose The Starting Lines album was pretty good if your into that kinda thing.

Finch's second album was different but still had its moments, none much better than the first song mind but still a strong album.

Best album for me in 2005 was the new Midtown album, it is amazing i dont think ive had it out of my cd player for a good few months now, for anyone who didnt like them before, give them another chance with this album it pisses over anything they have ever done before.

Boards of Canada - Campfire Headphase - Never really got into Geogaddi, and loved *some* of Music Has The Right... but they seem to have managed to offload the filler and unlistenable crap on this one.

Annie - Anniemal - I absolutely LOVE this album. It's cheesy, it's pop-py, it also sounds like Royksopp/Ralph Myerz and thus is soooooperb.

Super Furry Animals - Lovekraft - Mighty return to form after a couple of patchy albums. No massively obvious singles like their earlier albums, but great nevertheless.

Royksopp - The Understanding - Apart from 49 Percent, which is bollocks.

But my absolute, top of the pops favourite of 2005 goes to....

Buck 65 - Secret House Against The World - I really wasn't sure about this when I first got it. I knew it was either awful or genius. It's genius. If you've not heard it, he sounds a bit like an evil Calexico. Or Alt Country with scratching. Or just fucking brilliant. I command you to go and buy this in the January sales - if you give it a few listens, you won't regret it.

Notable mentions also to Little Barrie, Jamie Lidell (too patchy to make the final cut though) and DJ Format.

Why aren't you at the Belfry? I'm at cunting work....

1) The Belfry doesn't exist, and hasn't for at least 9 months

2) I was on a brief stop from Bennets when I posted that.

3) My phone was being charged when you phoned.

4) Merry Christmas! Hope those damn scousers are behaving themselves and not kicking lumps out of each other (as if).

5) The Belfry were cunts last year and wouldn't let us in at 8 o'bastardingclock. Dicks.

Back on topic, the Ralph Myerz album also deserves a mention.
