Guest b-bert
But then it wouldn't hold your helmet on in a crash! Mine's got the usual plastic stuff but it's covered with softer material. I've got no complaints about mine except that it can get a little hot...yes my point was to make the outer softer to increase comfort, not to remove the strap (as i have seen people do). Alternatively a material which is as strong without being abrasive to the skin. Safety should always count before comfort. (but silk strap outers would be good)
Guest b-bert
oh and on the point of helmets being hot. A full face helmet suitable for downhilling with good ventilation would be a good idea. (i dont like the look of those Giro ones with millions of holes though).
