Best Cowbell Moment in Rock History

Inspired and one of my all time fave tunes. I suspect though that these are random bits of metal and car engine bits that are being walloped... For argument sake 'cowbell'

Could be. But the changes in the metallic tone heard on the song can be well represented by a cowbell being hit at different points along it's length - I know, it was one of my first perseverences while trying to learn drums :D

I think I will also take the opportunity to mention Crass' Big A Little A which features random metallic noises at the end, most likely to be pots and pans

No no no.... it has to be the Saturday Night Live take on Blue Oyster Cult

"I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell."

Excellent, but in terms of "real" cowbell action I would have to go with Jammer on The Stones and Tone Loc.
