Rasputin
Hi GuysNot sure if you ever heard this news before but the local Aberdeen band Lunar who won the radio 2 demo to limo competition are currently recording there winning track "Nothing Iam Meant to be" with Steve Levine the producer of Culture Club, The Honeyz and The Beach Boys. The track once completed will supposedly put onto the Radio 2 website for free download. Hopefully this will lead to something for the band.If anyone has heard Lunar play...what did you think? If not please check out there website for more info at www.lunarhq.co.uk.Cheers
RF Scott
that beach boys album he produced looks like one of the shit post-wilson albums, which means he's had dealings with mike love. yuck.still, its nice to win competitions. Rasputin
Iam not an expert on the Beach boys stuff...but its got to be good. They reckon recording at the place they are at, and hiring Steve Levine would have cost them a mint but they are getting it for free. Alan Cynic
Good luck to them!Is this the same Lunar who used to play at the Malt Mill yonks ago (did a pretty good cover of 'Hazy shade of Winter'). ...started off as Luna, until I pointed out Dean Wareham's band of the same name? Chris
We played with them at Kef a few years back (can't remember which gig it was), and I tihnk I was at school with one of the guitarists if it's the same band I'm thinking of. Don't remember them doing anything fantastic (my memory that night is overshadowed by the ridiculously bad opening band. they had co-ordinated moves and everything) but I don't remember them being shit either.Nice bunch of guys, good luck to them. Rasputin
Hi Chris you went to school with ross and me (garron). Alan they have been together a long time so maybe this is the band you played with at the Malt Mill.Ross the guitarist only joined in 2003 nd since then they have changed there stle. But they were around before then with a different guitarist.

TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Don't remember them doing anything fantastic (my memory that night is overshadowed by the ridiculously bad opening band. they had co-ordinated moves and everything).Co-ordinated moves? I bet they were great, whoever they were.
Chris
Co-ordinated moves? I bet they were great' date=' whoever they were.[/quote']No. dear god no. The moves consisted of the same god awful strange dip/lunge performed by the guitarists throughout the set. The bass player did it once I think before giving up and looking embarrased. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
It sounds like they were trying to pull off status quo-esque moves... I guess it would have been worth seeing them for a few laughs, unless the music was that terrible.

TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Man i can see it now......lol.So what kind of stuff do you play then? I'd say it was indie rock, because if I say rock people might be expecting some kind of metal apocolypse. But we don't sound like Oasis or something. Think the Smashing Pumpkins crossed with The Breeders. Or something like that.
