And, funnily enough, i've never had anything like this. Hotmail - don't reply to them. Put them in the "Bulk Mail" folder then delete them - selecting the box that says "report to MSN". Hopefully that'll cut it down. Uni mail - report to your System Admins & they can block certain addresses. If you're getting crap popping up on your PC then go to www.download.com and download "Spybot - Search & Destroy" and "adaware". Install & run them and tehy should delete spyware from your PC. Also download "Zonealarm" so you have a Firewall. I take it you have a virus checker? make sure it's up to date. Never, ever leave your email address on a public noticeboard, blog or any other website as these will be trawled for addresses. It's too late to stop it but hopefully this should cut it down. soundian 31 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 And always set up a "fake" email address that you give to any sites that ask you(Join up free!, ring any bells), instead of your personal/work address.

soundian 31 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 Touch salesman.I was more wondering who else gets crazy spam than solutions to stop it. that was for pop-ups. the "dummy" email address is the best way to stop spam, coupled with a decent spam filter (always check your bulk folder though, some can be a bit too rigorous). Change your email address, let everyone in your addressbook know your new address, guard your new address with your life, and you have a spam free in-box. soundian 31 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 Thought so, google comes as standard with Firefox, and it has more intelligent pop-up blocking. And tabbed browsing etc... Although Opera is good as well, I've not used it a lot but I like it.
MattJimF 942 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 I have these as suggested by yourself' date=' but how do I get them to stop ads popping up?[/quote']adaware and spybot don't stop the pop ups, zonealarm should, firefox may.I really wish people who think they know what they are talking about, would stop mentioning them as ways to stop pop ups when all they do is get rid of the crap on you pc, badly (no offence ment by this, but the number of times i have seen people say to use adaware and spybot to get rid of pop ups, when they don't is stupid).
